Signs & Carvings

Custom signs and sculptures created by Dusty Dog are one-of-a-kind, unique pieces of art. I prefer to carve by hand, (chisel and mallet) which leaves pieces with a depth, texture, and human character that is rare in today’s world of laser-engraving and computer generated wood carvings. From storefront business signs to more personal items for the home, to sculptural art in relief or in the round, each piece comes to life slowly and deliberately, by hand.
Teaching
In addition to my studio work, I teach occasional woodworking classes through the Duluth Folk School, where upcoming public classes can be found. I’m also available for one-off classes in furniture making, carving, and related hand-tool skills, designed around a group’s interests and goals.
